In what perhaps might be the best irony of the week, the 9-1-1 phone lines are down in Pickaway County.
Circleville Police report that they are accepting all 9-1-1 calls for Pickaway County after the Sheriff’s office’s command center went down Wednesday night.
This comes less than 24 hours after a meeting was held by Circleville City Council to determine if CPD’s communication’s center should shut down and merge with the Sheriff’s office.
During that meeting, numerous people said that the city’s call center was vital, especially in cases when the county has an outage, such as tonight.
The city’s council has a meeting set for February 4 to discuss the matter about shutting down the city’s call center.
