Waverly City Schools are just the latest round of area districts to shut down the rest of the week.
The announcement came on Wednesday that the district will resume classes on Monday, February 3. It comes at the peak of an influenza epidemic.
Parents are encouraged to disinfect all bags, books, and other items their student may take to school before Monday. In addition, if the student is showing symptoms of any illness on Monday, they should remain home, the district said.
“During the time school is closed, our district staff will be continuing the cleaning and sanitizing of our school buildings.”
