Washington Court House City Schools announced Friday afternoon that their food service bus will start on Monday.

The “Big Blue Bus” is a mobile kitchen — similar to a food truck — that the district drives to scheduled stops in the area to feed children.

“The bus will hit the road this Monday,” said district spokesman Trevor Patton. “We’re still working out the details, but there will be meals fed to kids across our community on Monday, March 16th.”

This comes just a day after Governor Mike DeWine ordered schools across the state to shut down for three weeks beginning Monday in an effort to combat COVID-19.

On Friday. DeWine announced that the federal government would be assisting the entire state and all districts in providing meals to students who are out of school during the three week period.

Other districts, such as Chillicothe City Schools will also be feeding students.
