A daycare worker at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital daycare center has tested positive for COVID-19. Now, the center is shutdown after the worker had contact with 11 children and two staff members.
“Nationwide Children’s is deeply concerned about all children and staff impacted by this difficult news and will continually monitor and support each child and family. As we embrace our coworkers and their children, we are encouraged that the hospital’s notification and testing protocols worked as intended including our ability to conduct rapid testing on-site,” Nationwide Children’s Hospital said in a news release.
The employee was sent home to be quarantined and the center is closed until further notice.
The hospital said no other children are believed to have had contact with the employee, but about 150 other families whose children are served by the center were notified and will be monitored.
