Ohio will go into lock down 11:59 p.m. the order comes from the Ohio Department of Health.
The lockdown will start Monday night amid COVID-19. Only essential businesses can stay open.
The “shelter-in-place” is for the entire state. Citizens and workers are ordered — not recommended — to stay 6 feet away from another human.
Gov. DeWine says, “You can leave home to take care of others. You can take care of your neighbor, your family, your friend.”
“This is a war in a silent enemy,” said Dr. Amy Acton, the state’s top doctor. “I don’t want you to be afraid, I am not afraid.”
Via an order from the Ohio Department of Health, essential businesses as defined by the Department of Homeland Security are exempted. The order also allows people to leave home for essential activities like grocery shopping, outdoor activities (playgrounds are still closed), and essential work.
The police and local health department will enforce this order and violators will be charged with a misdemeanor crime.
It stays in effect until April 6.
