Thirty inmates convicted in 13 different area counties will be headed home before their prison sentences are over. This comes after an emergency order from Governor Mike DeWine meant to try and stem the spread of COVID-19 in state prisons.
Locally, five inmates in state prisons will be coming come from Ross, Fayette, and Pike counties.
The inmates were added for their release date within six months, age, risk factors, or pre-existing conditions which make them more vulnerable to COVID-19.
FAYETTE COUNTY
Alex Blackburn – Corrections Medical Center
Felony 3: tampering with evidence
Sentence: 1 yr 6mos, due for release 5/14/2020
William Furniss – Corrections Medical Center
Felony 4: failure to appear, Felony 5: possession of drugs
Sentence: 1yr, due for release 6/19/2020
Trevor Milstead – Madison Correctional Institution
Felony 3: tampering with evidence
Sentence: 3yrs, due for release 7/11/2020
PIKE COUNTY
Cecil Hill – Noble Correctional Institution
Felony 2: burglary
Sentence: 2yrs, due for release 4/6/2020
ROSS COUNTY
Cassandra Blankenship – Ohio Reformatory for Women
Felony 4: receiving stolen property
Sentence: 6mos, due for release 5/18/2020
