A man is in custody after a two-county pursuit Sunday evening.
It started in Pickaway County along route 23 at around 7 p.m. and spanned into Chillicothe.
Sergeant Roger Cooper with the Ohio Highway Patrol told the Guardian that one man was taken into custody after speeds reached more than 105 miles-per-hour.
“He was highly intoxicated,” Cooper said of the driver, whose name has not been released. The initial reason for the stop was speeding, the trooper said.
The man finally stopped for troopers along route 35 just south of Main Street near the Chillicothe city limits after traveling nearly 20 miles.
Cooper said the driver put up a fight initially before he was placed into handcuffs.
The dog warden was called to the scene along the highway for a dog that was also inside the fleeing SUV.
