A dog was tragically killed Monday night after two cars collided along route 35.
It happened just a couple miles into Ross County near the Fayette County line.
Highway Patrol trooper Kelsey Howard told the Guardian that a car experienced an equipment failure, most likely an axel issue. That’s when it crossed the median of the highway and clipped the tail end of another car driving in the opposite direction.
That car flipped numerous times, but no one was seriously injured. A dog inside the car was tossed out the window as the car rolled. The canine died in the highway.
The driver and passengers of the initial car that caused the accident were not injured.
No names have been released and troopers said no one will be cited.
