A powerhouse car dealership has purchased a historic building in Chillicothe along Bridge Street.
Nourse Auto bought the E.M. Smith Jewelers building located at 1334 North Bridge Street, across the street from Dick’s Sporting Goods.
The property sold for $1.4 million.
In 2018, Dick Nourse, managing member with QNP Acquisitions, LLC, a subsidiary of Nourse, had a request before the city’s Planning Commission for re-zoning when they opened a location at Water and Bridge streets.
During the meeting, Nourse said that the company planned to develop a secondary Nissan location near Dick’s Sporting Goods.
The location will sell new and used vehicles, primarily trucks, and will also act a secondary lot to the dealership’s primary location near route 35.
Last year, E.M. Smith Jewelry announced they were closing their location on Bridge Street after their owner was retiring.
There is no word if Nourse will demolish the building or simply incorporate it into their new footprint.
