Ross County entered “red” status on Thursday from the coronavirus, according to the state’s Governor.
Governor Mike DeWine said most of the cases are confined to the state prisons located in the county, but that many are also in the general public.
He cited “backyard barbecues and an overnight sleepover” as reasons for spikes, as well. He said the county had moved from 7-to-10 cases a day, up to 14-to-15 cases a day.
Ross County has 1,042 total cases. The county has had 31 deaths, according to health officials.
Pike County and Fayette County are also red.
