A viral video of a Chillicothe homeless woman being assaulted by a group of teens is still very much an active investigation.
Police Chief Ron Meyers released a statement to the Guardian that was to address erroneous reporting by a local blog, who claimed the case was closed.
The Guardian was the first to report the news of the beating on Tuesday.
“This case is not closed. It is still under investigation,” the Chief said. “We are continuing to gather information, including contacting additional witnesses, as well as getting other community partners involved to ensure the safety of the victim, as well as filing charges after proper identification of those involved. Officers worked over last night and through this morning to gather this information . More to come when it is available. “
The chief said charges are expected to be filed by those involved in the beating.
