The popular outlet mall in Jeffersonville has been sold.

Formerly Tanger Outlets, located along Interstate 71 at route 35 in Octa, was sold in an undisclosed sale to a newly formed company called Destination Outlets. The mall has 53 stores, including Nike and Ralph Lauren.

An outlet store, factory outlet, or factory shop is a store in which manufacturers sell their stock directly to the public at reduced pricing.

The mall’s name was officially changed to “Destination Outlets” Tuesday night, and the company’s new website, www.destinationoutlets.com is up-and-running.

The company did not immediately return a request for comment.

Jefferson Township in Fayette County has saw a boost in new companies building in the area, including a Menards distribution center and McKesson distribution.
