Carol Jean (Huston) Justice
Carol Jean (Huston) Justice, 76, of Ray, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2021 at Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born on December 20, 1944, in Laurelville, the daughter of the late Harold “Buss” and Theresa “Treat” (Menear) Huston. On April 18, 1966, she united in marriage with her late husband, Elmer Wayne Justice, who preceded her in death on November 28, 2015.
Carol is survived by her son, Michael Justice, of Ray; a niece that was more like a daughter, Ronnelle (Greg) Morrison Wolford; of Laurelville, great-niece and nephew, Jonathan and Brittany Wolford, who she considered her grandchildren; great-great-nephew, August, who she has been so excited to spend time with; sister, Lois (Jerry) Keaton, of Circleville; brothers, Ed (Donna) Huston, of Laurelville, and Keith (Rita) Huston, of Clarksburg; sister-in-law, Janice Huston, of Chillicothe; many special nieces and nephews; and numerous other special family members and friends whom she cherished.
In addition to her parents and husband, Carol was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda (Huston) Atwood; brother, Ted Huston; nieces and nephews, Laura Huston, Teresa Hileman, Lonnie Huston, Robby Hileman, and Elijah Wolford.
Carol was feisty and a fighter her entire life. She has fought a long, hard battle to stay as long as possible for her son. She loved children and always loved to babysit. She worked several cleaning jobs; most recently performing housekeeping and laundry service at Huston’s Nursing Home for many years.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Pastor James Vandagriff officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Laurelville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Hill’s with visitors maintaining social distancing and wearing face coverings.
