Scioto County’s new Sheriff has brought his county’s road patrol staffing levels back to normal. It’s the first time the county has had adequate deputies patrolling in nearly two years.
David Thoroughman took over as Sheriff on January 6.
The four new deputies were sworn in on Friday and brings the patrol division to 15.
“I had the pleasure of swearing in four new deputies today,” the Sheriff said. “Our newest deputies are Trevor Webster, Zachari Wentz, Donald Tackett-Dye, and Andrew Keeton.”
Trevor, Zachari, and Donald have been employed at the county jail. Andrew comes from Shawnee State University, where he has worked as a police officer. In addition to SSU, Andrew was a former jailer at the Sheriff’s office.
“With the addition of these four fine men, this brings our patrol staffing level to full strength. The patrol staffing level has not been at full strength for 15 months.”
