The Guardian is elated to announce to central Ohio the launch of our Pickaway County news bureau.

By being the area’s leading news source, the Guardian has taken a step into the future that will increase coverage for an area that has long been a part of our history.

“With a population of nearly 60,000, Pickaway County is ripe for the picking,” said the Guardian’s editor-in-chief, Derek Myers. “We’ve hovered over Circleville and the county, dabbling in major stories over the years, but we are excited about this newest milestone in our enterprise that will create a daily approach to news in the county.”

The bureau will be staffed by one reporter who currently lives in Pickaway County, as well as an Account Executive who will focus on advertising and marketing efforts throughout the county. With more social media following than any other local news organization in the Scioto Valley, the Pickaway County bureau will focus solely on news and events happening in the county. With more than 1.5 million monthly page views, taking an aggressive approach to news in the Pumpkin County should bolster an even higher readership.

“We’ve made two great hires and we’re thrilled that they are natives to the area.”

The bureau opens later this week.
