Multiple doctors have tendered their resignations at an area medical group.

Social media postings started circulating Thursday that six doctors had tendered their resignations at Adena Orthopedic Surgeons.

AOS conducts more than 600 total knee, hip, and shoulder replacements each year, according to their website.

The Guardian reached out to Adena to confirm the rumors. Jason Gilham, a spokesman for the health organization confirmed that “a select number” of providers have chosen to leave. Gilham would not confirm the number, but sources say that six providers are involved.

Currently, Adena employs a host of doctors in the orthopedics division, including Doctors Brian Cohen, Matthew Santiago, Casey Chamberlin, Neel Patel, John Boyle, Anthony Lattavo, W. Bradley Strauch, and physician assistant Amanda Sheldon. Gilham said overall, there’s 38 providers in the bone and joint center. The Guardian was unable to confirm which providers are leaving.

“Adena does not disclose personnel details around physician off-boarding and patients should remain confident in our ability to deliver care in these areas will not be impacted,” Gilham said.

This article was updated to accurately reflect the number of providers.
