ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A high speed chase on Memorial Day ended with the driver getting away.

Just before 11 a.m., law enforcement in Ross County tried stopping a car for several traffic violations. When the deputy turned on his lights, the driver fled. Speeds reached 110 miles-per-hour as the chase headed south on route 23, toward Pike County.

Troopers and deputies laid down spike strips along the way, but the fleeing driver missed them. After about a half-hour of pursuing the car, the driver managed to evade police and get away near Huntington Hills, according to law enforcement.
