Rose Ellen Hazelbaker, 72, of Washington Court House, left this earth to go home to her Savior on Monday, May 31, 2021 at 6:50 AM. Her passing was sudden, but expected. She had been ill for some time. Rose was born on April 3, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio to Ralph and Barbara Davis Bellar.
She was a 1967 graduate of Washington Senior High School. Rose was a compassionate woman with an abundant love for her Savior, her family, her country and her community. She was a homemaker, nurse, caregiver and artist. She enjoyed life and being around others and had a great sense of humor. She had attended the First Church of God; she was a member of the Autism Society and was a leader in the Girl Scouts organization for 25 years. Rose was also a strong advocate for the republican party and for her community and attended Washington City Council meetings regularly. She had also worked as a special education aide for Washington City Schools.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Glen L. Hazelbaker, daughter; Lori-lea (Chaney) Baird and son-in-law Michael Baird, son; Robert Hazelbaker and grandson; Ryan Baird. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister; Patricia Bellar.
In keeping with Rose’s wishes, cremation will take place. The family will gather at a later date for a small private ceremony.
