CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Chillicothe native Brian Stewart announced today that he would suspend his congressional campaign.

Stewart served previously as the Pickaway County Commissioner before recently being elected to the Ohio General Assembly. He was seeking the seat vacated by former Congressman Steve Stivers, who left to led the Ohio Chamber of Commerce on May 15.

In a statement released today, Stewart stated that his campaign “lacked the financial resources to keep pace in this short special election cycle.” Stewart went on to thank his volunteers, donors, and friends for their work and support.
