ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio — The Sheriff of Athens County said he has arrested a man for assaulting and killing another.
According to the Sheriff, Blaine Sharpe, 59, died Sunday after being attacked by Justin Pennington, 35.
The Sheriff said that Pennington beat up Sharpe and then, as he was running away from the scene, bragged to Sharpe’s daughter about it. Pennington was found unconscious and not breathing, and was taken to the local hospital where he died.
A manhunt was started for Pennington, who ran into nearby woods, the Sheriff said. After a brief search, which included the help of the Ohio Highway Patrol, the man was found and arrested. He faces numerous charges, including involuntary manslaughter.
