Peggy Ann Bailey, 81, of Chillicothe, died 5:58 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
She was born April 16, 1940, in Chillicothe, to the late William and Hazel Colburn Lowry. She was married to Vernon Sheets and Charles Bailey, both whom preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son, Harvey (Heidi) Lowry; grandchildren, Latasha (William) Monroe, Jamie Lowry, Forrest (Ashton) Bowling, Theresa (Matt) Bloomfield, all of Chillicothe, Dustin (Kristina) Lowry, of Frankfort, Amanda (Scott) Bowling, Jessica Lowry, Jennifer Lowry, Ashley Lowry, all of Chillicothe; 26 great grandchildren; brothers, Charles Lowry and Carl Lowry, both of Chillicothe; numerous nieces and nephews, including Marie Polen, Norma “Sissy” Wilson, Hazel (Beeman) Strausbaugh, Frankie (Emma) Scott, Glenn W. Scott and Betty Scott and her boyfriend Robert Jones, all of Chillicothe; and a long time friend, Beth “Steph” Madison, of Chillicothe. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by a son, Larry Lowry; sisters, Norma Scott, Ruth Miller, Virginia Posey, Emma Chaffin, Ada Bowles and Bertha Alexander; brothers, James, William, George, and Ernest Lowry; an infant brother; and a nephew, Michael Polen.
Peggy loved to spend time with and cook for her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
