FAYETTE COUNTY, Ohio — A man was killed, another was put behind bars, and two homes were raided, all in Washington Court House on Thursday.
The Sheriff in Fayette County said that after the early-morning killing of Robert L. Gould, II, 45, on Temple Street near Delaware Street, deputies pulled over a car that was possibly involved.
Once stopped, deputies found drugs, money, and a gun inside the car, which was being driven by Kyle Wilson, 28. Wilson is believed to be involved in the shooting of Gould, but hasn’t been charged in connection to the killing as of Thursday evening. Wilson was arrested, however, on the things found inside the car and an indictment related to the murder is expected, law enforcement said.
After information was gathered during an interrogation of Wilson, deputies in Fayette County, along with Franklin County SWAT and Washington Court House Police served two search warrants Thursday afternoon. The raids were related to drug dealing, which Wilson was a part of, Fayette County Sheriff Vernon P. Stanforth said.
Homes located at 623 East Paint Street and 407 Broadway Street — both in Washington Court House — were searched. A gun, drugs, and more money were found, Stanforth said. The Sheriff said the money is believed to be “drug money.”
No one was arrested in the raids, however, the Sheriff said he and his deputies had already been investigating the homes for drug trafficking for several months. Stanforth said the evidence will be handed over to the county prosecutor for indictments later this month.
