JACKSON COUNTY, Ohio — The Ohio Highway Patrol has released the name of a Michigan man killed in the deadly semi crash on route 35 in Jackson Co.
Troopers said, a semi traveling westbound on route 35, attempted to slow down for a car making a turn onto Caves Road. It was at that time a second semi struck the back of the first semi. A chain reaction crash followed. Another semi also traveling westbound collided with the second semi.
Reports state, a passenger in the second semi, who has been identified as Robert Martinez, 38, of Michigan, was killed. Martinez was pronounced dead on scene by the Jackson County Coroner. The driver of that semi was flown to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to ODOT officials, the crash shut down route 35 for hours, following the crash.
