PIKE COUNTY, Ohio — A serious crash involving the Sheriff of Pike County has closed parts of route 23.
According to reports, the southbound lane on route 23 is shutdown near Piketon.
The Ohio Highway Patrol confirmed to the Guardian that a Pike County Sheriff Evans was involved in the crash.
The Patrol stated that there were no life threatening injuries in the crash. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
The Ohio Department of Transportation has not said when the highway may be opened back up.
The names of those involved and the extent of any injuries were immediately released. The events leading up to the crash also weren’t immediately released.
