PIKE COUNTY, Ohio — A man faces charges for his involvement in a police pursuit that occurred back in June.
On June 29, a Pike County deputy observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the village of Beaver, the Sheriff said. According to reports, Deputy Marc Thompson attempted to stop the vehicle driven by John Isac Ray Blevins. Thompson said Blevins did not comply with his orders and then sped away from the scene leading deputies on a wild chase.
Law enforcement said Blevins continued running with speeds during the pursuit reaching close to 100 miles per hour.
According to reports, Blevins crashed into another vehicle at the exit ramp to route 32 and route 93, in Jackson County. After a short foot chase, Belvins was arrested by troopers from the Highway Patrol who had also joined in the pursuit.
John Blevins was charged with several felonies including aggravated vehicular assault.
