WAVERLY, Ohio — The small town of Waverly has officially filled their vacant police chief job after nearly two months.
The position was filled by interim chief, and Lieutenant John Winfield on Tuesday. Winfield was tapped as interim chief weeks ago after the ouster of former chief Zach Dixon amid a Guardian expose that revealed Dixon filmed and distributed homemade sex tapes to his employees.
Winfield has been with the department for three years. He will make $23.30 an hour in his new position.
