CLEVELAND, Ohio — Tim Ryan’s campaign for U.S. Senate raised $2.28 million in the second quarter of 2021 – more than any Democratic challenger for Senate in Ohio has ever raised in Q2 of the off-year – and will report nearly $2.6 million in cash on hand. Tim’s record-breaking haul included contributions from Ohioans in each of the state’s 88 counties, proof that his campaign to cut workers in on the deal is resonating in every corner of the Buckeye State.
96 percent of contributions to the campaign this quarter were less than $100 and the average online contribution was just under $27, the latest sign that Tim is building a grassroots team capable of flipping this seat and so he can take his fight for Ohio workers to the U.S. Senate.
“Tim Ryan’s historic fundraising is just one way that he’s shown he’s ready to flip Ohio’s open U.S. Senate seat and give Ohio the most pro-worker Senate delegation in the country,” said Tim Ryan for Ohio spokesperson Izzi Levy. “From now through next November, Tim will continue to unify Ohioans and build grassroots power with his relentless focus on the working people of this state.”
In addition to his strong fundraising, Tim continues to consolidate support and build momentum across Ohio. He’s earned endorsements from over 200 elected leaders and Democratic activists around the state, as well as from labor organizations including the Ohio AFL-CIO, AFSCME Ohio Council 8 and OAPSE AFSCME Local 4, and the Ohio State Conference of IBEW.
