JACKSON COUNTY, Ohio — On Monday, Jackson County Judge Mark Musick signed a General Order asking law enforcement to arrest anyone on probation who has failed to register for community service.
According to the Jackson County Probation Department arrests began immediately.
Records show that a total of five individuals were arrested by Tuesday afternoon.
Probation Department officials in an online statement said, “If you haven’t reported for a while or are behind on treatment, community service or other conditions, come into probation and talk to your PO.”
The Guardian reached out to Jackson County Jail officials to see if the jail was able to house a sudden increase in arrestees, but never heard back from them.
Many area jails are struggling to find room for inmates. According to several county Sheriff’s jails are beginning to reach maximum capacity.
