PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — The Ohio Highway Patrol with EMS responded to a serious crash on route 23 near the Franklin and Pickaway County line around 9:30 p.m.
According to reports on the scene, there was at least one vehicle that suffered major damage. EMS stated that there are injuries in the accident. The names of those involved and the extent of any injuries was not immediately released.
Ohio Department of Transportation confirms that the northbound lane of route 23 near Pic-Way Road is closed at this hour. Troopers with the Patrol could not say when the highway would be opened back up.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area while crews work to clear the scene.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
