CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — An anti-mask rally is scheduled for August 4 at the Ross County Courthouse in Chillicothe.
Organizers of the rally say, “With current recommendations of face masks in schools, and Ohio’s three largest schools requiring face masks for every student we are standing our ground to support everyone’s right to make the choice they feel is best for their children.”
Earlier this week Ohio’s top doctor, Dr. Bruce Vanderhoff recommended that all students and staff wear masks during this coming school year.
In a reverse decision from previous orders, the Center for Disease Control released new guidance this week stating that all Americans should mask up regardless of their vaccination status in areas of low vaccination rates, or where there are high numbers of COVID-19 infections.
These new recommendations have once again sparked anger and controversy.
In an online statement, organizers said, “We make the decision to do as we please with our children and their health! We all pay taxes to the school districts, so we demand to be heard.”
The event is scheduled for August 4, at 6 p.m.
