PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — The National Weather Service in Wilmington confirmed that a tornado had touched down in Pickaway County, Thursday, July 29.

The NWS conducted a storm survey and determined that an EF-0 tornado did touch down near the New Holland area. Storm survey crews said that the tornado first touched down in a field close to Dick Road, and traveled across, hitting a farm. Reports say a residence suffered roof damage along with the total destruction of a large outbuilding. The tornado continued along Mouser Road where it destroyed two barns before lifting.

Officials say debris was thrown over a 1/4 mile from the destroyed structures. Winds according to the survey were estimated at around 85 miles per hour.
