ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio– One person has died after a tragic crash in Athens County.
According to the Athens Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, a fatal crash occurred today, around 1 p.m.
Troopers with the post said Ja’Lynn Layton, 20, of Logan was driving her 2004 Nissan Altima on route 78 when she veered off the road, overturned, and then hit a tree.
Layton was airlifted to OSU in Columbus where she later died from her injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
