ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A group of thieves stole a festival stage in southern Ohio over the weekend.
The Ross County Sheriff said he is investigating the case of who stole the “Fall Festival of Leaves” outdoor stage.
The Fall Festival of Leaves is a three day event held the third full weekend in October, in downtown Bainbridge. Festivities include arts, crafts, entertainment, flea market, midways, parades, antique tractor show, log sawing contest, antique and classic car show.
According to the Sheriff, deputies were called to Bainbridge on Friday after organizers showed up to find the stage missing.
A festival organizer told deputies that they had seen the stage in the area of Cynthiana along route 41, reports say, and went knocking on the door of the home. The festival official told deputies they questioned the people who had the stage, but the people told the organizer the stage was “a gift” to them and they were told they could take it.
Deputies took a report of the incident and the case remains under investigation.
