BAINBRIDGE, Ohio — The main headquarters for a popular tri-state rental company was on fire Wednesday night.
According to officials, the main office belonging to Rent-2-Own was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived at around 11 p.m. The company is known in the area for leasing-to-own appliances and home furniture. The company was started in 1985 and has 33 stores, 300 employees, and 17,000 customers, according to owner Mike Tissot.
“This is like nothing we’ve ever seen here before,” said village resident Barbara Simmons. “This business is a staple in this community. It’s a tragedy.”
Multiple fire departments from four counties fought the blaze. The building, and the contents within were a total loss.
The cause of the fire was not immediately released, but the state fire marshal was called to investigate.
