CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Detectives are looking for a gunman after a robbery on Wednesday.

Police reported that just after 5 p.m., the convenience store, HD Mart, along Water Street and Western Avenue in Chillicothe was held up.

“Upon arrival, officers found an unknown male had produced a handgun and demanded cash from the attendant,” said a spokesman for the police department. “The attendant complied with the request and the male exited the store.”

The gunman held the clerk at gun point, police said.

The robber sped away in a 2002-to-2009 silver Honda Accord, police said. Law enforcement released a photo of the man and the car, and asked for the public’s help in identifying him.

The gunman is described as an older African-American with grey hair and a beard.

The store was roped off with crime scene tape and was processed for evidence.
