ROSS COUNTY, Ohio– Law enforcement released more details following a large-scale raid of a residence in Frankfort.
Around 8:30 a.m., Thursday, Franklin County SWAT made initial entry into the home on Westfall Road, where they found three individuals inside.
The Ross County Sheriff’s Office and Detectives from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office searched the home, and several items were confiscated as evidence. No details were given regarding what those items were.
Law enforcement officials found several vehicles parked on the property. Investigators on the scene ran VIN numbers to determine if any of the vehicles were stolen. At the time reports say, none of the vehicles came back stolen.
According to the Ross County Sheriff, law enforcement finished their initial search and cleared the scene.
Reports say, that later in the day on Thursday, Detectives discovered that they had inadvertently entered the wrong information into their database concerning one of the vehicles.
Detectives said the vehicle was re-entered into LEADS (Law Enforcement Automated Data System), and in fact, came back stolen.
Ross County Sheriff’s Office petitioned a judge for another search warrant, and it was granted.
Detectives returned to the Westfall Road home where they discovered several other stolen items that they had missed in the original search.
Around that same time, according to reports, Sheriff Deputies made a traffic stop. Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputy noticed that one of the occupants in the back seat was connected to the recently raided residence.
That subject was taken into custody and charged with receiving stolen property.
Ross County Sheriff said the investigation is still ongoing, and additional criminal charges are expected.
