Rick James, 61, of Chillicothe, died 11:26 a.m. Thursday, August 12, 2021 at his residence unexpectedly.
He was born October 2, 1959, in Franklin County, to Everett and Marty Fowler James.
Surviving are his life companion of 20 years, whom he considered to be his wife, Donna Cousins, of Chillicothe; mother and stepfather, Marty and Danny Darling; sons, Brock E. James and Dana S. James; numerous grandchildren; brothers, Tracy Welch and Mark (Dottie) James and their son, Cody James; sisters, Sherrie (Tom) Pierce, Carla James and Wanda “Francie” Coonrod; and special uncle, Pete Fowler and his wife, Mary. He was predeceased by his father, Everett James, his grandparents and a granddaughter.
Rick loved to draw, do airbrush painting on motorcycles among other things. He was a mechanic by trade as was his father. He got a lot of pleasure fixing things for the grandchildren as only he could do. Rick loved racing, cars and car shows until his health wouldn’t allow him to do anymore. He will be missed by all his family, numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Rick was the co-owner of the former James Automotive.
Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2021. A graveside service will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
