SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio — A Wheelersburg man is in jail on charges that he robbed a 75-year-old woman at the Walmart in New Boston.
According to the victim, the robber snatched her purse and then ran her over with his car.
Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman said the incident occurred on June 8.
EMS was called to the scene following the attack to transport the injured woman to the hospital, reports say.
Surveillance footage from the New Boston Walmart and Krogers, helped law enforcement identify the attacker, said Sheriff Thourghman.
On August 16, law enforcement was able to locate the vehicle belonging to the suspect. According to detectives, during the investigation, evidence related to the robbery was discovered.
Charged in the attack was Robert G. Porter, 34, Wheelersburg. Porter faces one count of aggravated robbery and is currently in the Western Regional Jail in West Virginia, pending extradition.
