ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Brazen criminals broke into a Ross County home early Wednesday morning.
According to the homeowner, the thieves broke into the residence while they were asleep, stealing items inside and then stealing the homeowner’s truck.
Deputies with the Ross County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence on route 41 near Greenfield.
According to reports, deputies took photographs and collected fingerprints for analysis.
The truck, a Burgundy, 2017 Ford F-150, has yet to be located.
Community residents took to social media in hopes that someone had seen the stolen truck or had witnessed the burglary.
One concerned resident said, “Someone has to catch these guys before someone gets hurt or killed.”
The nature of the crime has many residents on edge. The thought of someone inside their home, as they sleep, shatters their sense of safety.
