ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A Ross County man is in jail after law enforcement says he broke into the Ross County Humane Society and stole a dog.
Ross County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to the Humane Society on Lick Run Road early Thursday morning after receiving an alert from a security alarm on the property.
Deputies responded and noticed an open door at the shelter. According to reports, shortly after deputies arrived on the scene, an employee with the Humane Society showed up. Upon a brief search of the building, the employee advised that a dog was missing. The employee said that she had seen a male subject walking down the road with a dog matching the description of the missing canine.
The suspect was found a short distance from the Humane Society, according to Sheriff Deputies. The man, later identified as Larry James Galliher II, was arrested for Breaking and Entering and taken to the Ross County Jail.
