CHILLICOTHE, Ohio- — Police are looking for a stolen vehicle and the person who took it.
Chillicothe Police were called Monday to Planet Fitness on North Bridge Street regarding a stolen car.
According to the victim, the keys to his car were inside a “Planet Fitness” locker. Reports say the locker was not locked at the time, and the thief stole the keys.
Surveillance footage, according to police, showed the suspect, later identified as 16-year-old Payton Alan Baldridge, a missing run-away from Fayette County, entering Planet Fitness and going to the locker room. An employee told police that Baldridge said he was looking for his jacket.
The vehicle, a 2019 Kia Forte, has yet to be recovered. It was not immediately released if Baldridge was apprehended.
No further details were immediately available.
This was one of two reported car thefts Monday in Chillicothe. The second vehicle was taken from a house on Johnson Road. Chillicothe Police are investigating both incidents, and do not believe the two thefts are connected.
