COLUMBUS, Ohio — Governor Mike DeWine announced today that all U.S. and Ohio flags be lowered.

In a statement from Gov. DeWine, “In accordance with the order issued by the President of the United States of America, in honoring the lives of the U.S. service members and other victims killed in the terrorist attack in Kabul, Afghanistan, a flag-lowering order went into effect last night.”

State officials said the order will be for all public buildings and grounds until sunset on August 30.

U.S. military officials said, at least 12 U.S. troops were killed in the blast that rocked a Kabul airport.

President Joe Biden said in an address to the American people regarding the attack, “We will hunt you down and make you pay.”
