VINTON COUNTY, Ohio — Vinton County Sheriff Ryan Cain said his deputies arrested a woman with a large rifle across from the county’s high school.
The incident. according to Cain, happened Friday. Cain said deputies responded to the area of Calvary Assembly of God and the Vinton County High School in McArthur on reports of a suspicious person.
Deputies found a woman, later identified as Cheyenne Hansley, 30, Columbus, with a large gun under her clothing. Reports say, deputies searched Hansley and found a large rifle with a scope, tripod, multiple magazines, and illegal drugs.
The deputies on the scene did not find any ammunition, according to Cain.
Hansley was arrested and taken to the Sheriff’s Office for questioning. She has been charged with multiple felonies, according to the Vinton County Prosecutor’s Office.
Cain said the school was placed under lockdown while deputies investigated the matter. No further details were immediately available.
