COLUMBUS, Ohio– Ohio Governor Mike DeWine issued a “reprieve of execution” for four death row inmates.

The reprieves come as the state of Ohio struggles to find a manufacturer for the lethal drug cocktail used in the state’s executions.

  • Warren K. Henness, who was scheduled to be executed on January 12, 2022.  The new date of execution has been moved to December 17, 2024.

  • James G. Hanna, who was scheduled to be executed on May 18, 2022.  The new date of execution has been moved to May 14, 2025.

According to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections, there are currently 133 inmates on death row.
