HIGHLAND COUNTY, Ohio– A food pantry volunteer was run over and killed Friday afternoon, said Highland County Sheriff Donnie Barrera.

According to the Sheriff, Paint Creek EMS responded to New Life Ministries on route 247 in Hillsboro shortly before 1 p.m.

Upon arrival, EMS found a 63-year-old woman from Peebles in critical condition. Reports say, Robert Hester, 72, of Leesburg struck the woman, and then ran over her.

The woman was taken to Highland District Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival. 

The accident remains under investigation and no further details were immediately available.
