ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A Chillicothe couple is thankful that no one was seriously injured in a reported highway shooting incident.
According to reports, the vehicle owner was traveling along route 23 near Massieville, Sunday, when their vehicle was hit by a bullet. The bullet, troopers said, entered through the driver’s side door, traveling through the vehicle, and stopping near the backseat area.
The bullet came mere inches from hitting the person in the driver seat.
“We are so thankful that someone was looking over us yesterday,” said the vehicle owner.
A bullet was found inside the car’s trim and was taken in as evidence.
Troopers said that neighbors were interviewed and reported that they had heard shots.
Troopers with the patrol have not named any suspects and the incident remains open, but investigators said it’s quite possible to have been a stray bullet.
