ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A serious crash closed a portion of route 23 in Ross County on Thursday.
According to EMS, a three vehicle accident happened around 3 p.m. near the intersection of Crouse Chapel Road and route 23.
Initial reports said that a semi was involved and one car was on fire.
One person, according to witnesses at the scene, was trapped in one of the vehicles, and another had been ejected.
Johnathan Jordan, 43, Greenfield, died in the crash.
Officials said a medical helicopter was requested to the scene to transport the most critically injured to a Columbus area hospital.
Troopers with the patrol confirmed one person was killed in the horrific crash, and two others were seriously injured. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The names of those involved have not been released.
