ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Unioto High School was placed on lockdown Thursday morning in Ross County
Initial reports from students said a fellow classmate had brought a gun to school.
Deputies from the Ross County Sheriff’s office responded to the Unioto to investigate.
According to students and staff, the gun was not real and was confiscated by authorities.
In a one-call message, Superintendent Matt Thornsberry told parents of the lockdown and reassured families that there was no threat or danger to anyone at the school.
Thornsberry went on to thank the swift actions of local law enforcement in dealing with the incident.
