ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A Ross County man is facing charges after what authorities call a violent assault.

Deputies from the Ross County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Jason Lane after a 9-1-1 caller reported a male suspect had assaulted her.

As units arrived, dispatch reported the man screaming in the background.

Initial reports state that the victim ran to a nearby vehicle to get away. Deputies say the man returned to the house and barricaded the door.

Law enforcement surrounded the home when they noticed the man jumping from a window and running away.

According to officials, deputies chased the man on foot but lost sight of him in a cornfield.

EMS was dispatched to the scene to treat the victim as troopers from the Ohio Highway Patrol helped to set up a perimeter.

The suspect, Kenneth Brown Jr. now faces assault, domestic violence, and obstruction related charges.

No further information was immediately available and the incident remains under investigation.
