VINTON COUNTY, Ohio — A fatal accident on route 50 has claimed the life of a Vinton County resident.
Ohio Highway Patrol reports that Samuel Hatley, 62, was driving his 2003 Cadillac CTS eastbound along route 50. According to troopers, Hatley veered off the right side of the highway, struck a ditch, and overturned.
According to reports, the accident happened around 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Authorities say that Hatley was transported by medical helicopter to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, where he later died from his injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No further details were immediately released.
